Holden Back The Tears
So far, in the book Catcher In The Rye, I think Holden creates a very strong character presence. He's not afraid to voice his opinion and let us know what he thinks about something. As far as his personality is concerned, he has a very overwhelming one, but that's better than being a boring dork. I think Holden has some problems though. He definately doesn't know how to commit himself to his school work, which confuses me because the only other thing he has is the fencing team. In the end though, I think Holden will find his true calling and end up being happy.

Morrie Comparison 1/26/09
I think the book, Tuesday's w/ Morrie, the ABC interview, and the movie are simlar because they all show how much Morrie loves life. In the book especially, we see how Morrie is a sweet, down to heart old man. He doen't dwell on the fact that he's dying and we see that in all the ways Morrie has been presented to us. He got to go on national television to tell his story, and not once did he complain about dying or try to have people feel sorry for him. Morrie's just not that type of guy, and reading the book, and watching both the interview and part of the movie has made me realize that. He always wants to know how his friends and family are doing before he'll ask for anything. There's not too many people out in the world like Morrie these days. I think reading this book was a really good idea and it's definetly the best book I've ever read! :)

Morrie Interview
I watched the Morrie interview and I found it to be very inspirational. So far, I am really enjoying the book and I just want to keep reading it even when I'm done with the homework. At first, I had a mental image of what Morrie Schwartz looked like but I thought it was cool to see what he really looked like. I kind of wish I knew a person like Morrie in my life because it seems like he always has the right things to say about life lessons. When i watched the interview I was wanting to hear every word he was saying. It's like I needed to hear the inspiration and hope in his words. Now that i got to see how Morrie was in real life it makes the book that much more interesting to me. I want to learn more about his story and I can't wait to finish the book!
